Meet Kathryn L. Novak

The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web. ~Pablo Picasso

Fine Art painter, Kathryn L Novak is a twenty-year Chicago resident. Her unique style has evolved by combining traditional painting techniques and artistic instinct with modern tools, e.g. artist’s tablet and digital brushes as a means to express her passion for bright, bold, colourful images and her need to create. ‘Fine art meets modern technology.’

Ms. Novak’s unique large format Contemporary Pure and Partial Abstract themed art focuses on a combination of colour, contrast, light and movement.

Ms. Novak says: ‘For me, painting is pure joy. My creative process is quite spontaneous, and can be inspired by something as simple as a thought, feeling, or flash of color. I begin by laying down a few strokes of colour, or a simple shape and it flows from there. I don’t paint to live, I live to paint! I believe my work speaks for itself. It is my hope that it speaks to you as well.’

Ms. Novak has written and illustrated three children’s books. Her hobbies include graphic design, needlecrafts, and food arts, which include cooking, baking, candy making and cake decorating.

These striking and distinctive paintings are now available as Open Edition Prints online, or Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Prints directly from the artist.
