Face Value ‘Thick As Thieves’ [New EP]

With the release of their “Thick As Thieves” EP, Face Value brings a new feel to a classic genre.

Lush with progressive guitar work, addictive and powerful choruses, and an alt-rock attitude, the record boasts the aesthetic of pop-punk anthems.

Although the songs are diverse from one another, a glue holds them all together much like a concept album would. Most importantly, the EP never loses sight of the emotional platform from which great songs are built.

The first single, “Tongue and Cheek,” is an instant powerpop classic. Complete with melodic vocal harmonies and a hard-hitting chorus, the song seems to build and breathe as it plays on.

Although the single speaks volumes for the EP, it should be heard in its entirety in order to truly understand the thoughts and ideas behind it.

Originally formed by Alec Myers (frontman/guitar) and Jeremiah Douglas (drums/electric triangle), Face Value witnessed the departure of initial members Kyle Ritter and Garrett Heydt.

Soon after, brothers Parker and Grayson Ross joined the band, meshing their unique pop-rock and effect-driven sound with the fundamental raw punk tendencies Alec and Jeremiah gravitated towards.

Invited to play the 2015 Driven Music Conference and 17th Annual Texas Rock Fest (both in Austin, TX), along with the 2016 Launch Music Conference and Celebrate Fairfax! Festival 2016, the band is certainly not new to performing on bigger stages, as well as constantly working on new material as they hone in their live performance.
