Bethan Kerridge is a Norwich based artist working predominantly in painting and sculpture. Combining found objects with painted primary source material, Bethan Kerridge explores themes of the Domestic and the Unhomely.
Objects and fabrics are subjected to painting processes, resulting in relationships between the familiar and the unfamiliar. She is constantly exploring these artistic procedures in combination with the relationships between the visual, physical and tensile properties of materials that result in a form.
Bethan is also fascinated by process, employing video and audio techniques to both document the assembly of her art, and to exacerbate feelings of the uncanny.
By dislocating the audio from the visuals and utilising domestic tools, the concepts informing her work are present in both the initial, preparatory process of the work and the final outcome.
