Rising Afrobeat artist Mr Enah talks musical influences and the creative process behind his latest Afro anthem ‘Pull Up’ ft. CallieMajik

Mr Enah

Originally hailing from Nigeria but now based in London, Mr Enah is a thoroughly talented and prolific Afrobeat artist who prides himself on his versatile sound and distinctive style. There is an overt authenticity and honesty to his broad discography with each and every release radiating the raw emotion he has poured into its creation. This is credit to his writing inspiration being drawn from real life people and their true experiences which is what makes his music so wholeheartedly relatable.

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

Life inspired me, I started doing music as a way to get things of my chest.. and things just evolved from there.

“I was never one to speak about my feelings, but writing lyrics was my way of expressing myself. It evolved into Afrobeats/Afroswing after being shipped to Nigeria on multiple occasions which gave me the opportunity to learn about my roots and where I come from.”

What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?

I would say the stories I tell are different from other peoples, I also believe my sound and vibe is unmatched.

Your new single ‘Pull Up’ feat. CallieMajik is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the visuals and the release?

I linked up with my good friend CallieMajik based in Nigeria for this one. I created the vibe and sent it over to him and he done the rest. ‘Pull Up’ is all about grabbing opportunities when possible, so if you meet a girl that you like, make the first move and see what happens.

Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any ‘wow’ moments?

I’ve experience many wow moments, but a main one for me was seeing how many peoples lives I’ve touched. My songs being listened all over the world by millions of people is a blessing in itself.

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

Do what makes you happy, not all advice is good advice.

What does the foreseeable future hold for you as an artist?

I plan to just focus on the music and focus on releasing more songs.

Anything else you would like to add?

I have big big things happening for 2023, so stay tuned and follow me on my socials so you don’t miss out.

‘Pull Up’ is available now via all major platforms.
