FJU Talents is an annual platform showcasing emerging designers from Taiwan. The platform is sponsored by textiles and clothing Department of Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU), a leading fashion and textile design education institute based in Taiwan since 1970. FJU Talents supports and nurtures the institute’s talented alumni into the global fashion scene.

Four designers are selected by industry experts who mentor and shape their design visions. finalists who have completed a three-month training scheme will showcase their capsule collections as catwalk shows at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week Designers:


Ina Hsu graduated from FJU’s Department of Textiles and Clothing in 2017. Ina’s Ready-to-Wear collections feature feminine romance mixed with a dark distinction for young women with strong personalities.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection is inspired by a Japanese thriller; ‘The World of Kanako’. The collection features Ina Hsu’s signature style of contrasts, re-enacting confusion in dream.


Born in 1995 in Taipei, Taiwan, Shun Yu graduated from FJU’s Department of Textiles and Clothing. Shun won the championship in the CITD Printing Design Competition in 2015 as well as awards from ECLAT eternity Designer Fashion Competition. His signature style is Gothic chic in asymmetric silhouettes.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection is inspired by the concept of ‘Hemalurgy’ from Brandon Sanderson’s novel ‘Mistborn’. ‘Hemalurgy’ is a way to gain the power from pain and sacrifice. This collection used pattern displaces awl, asymmetry, twist to demonstrate the concept of sacrifice and agony. And use 3-denominational structure as a symbol of power. The whole collection is presenting a soul which is distorted by the addiction of power.


Taiwan-based fashion designer, Shing-Luen Liou has showcased his collections at exhibitions and competitions in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. His graduate collection ‘Gentry in the Mountain’ won the first place of Taiwan Fashion Design Award in 2015.

Observing and contemplating the cultural differences are Shing-Luen’s passion. He applies his interpenetrations of different cultures and social issues to his design elements to create unique vision through his collections.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection is inspired by sculptor Ju Ming’s “Tai Chi” and “Living World” series. The designer tends to express the contemporary Taiwan aesthetics to the world by the clothes-viewpoint.


Taiwan born Yu Mei Huang graduated specializing in knitwear from Fu Jen Catholic University in 2014. She has worked for Tokyo based knitwear designer Motohiro Tanji along with Ruentex Industrial Ltd as a New York based textile designer.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection is inspired by Taiwan’s 1960s female white collar workers and feminism. The collection features Yu Mei Huang’s signature style of crafted textile manipulation.
