British Soul Songstress Cherri V debuts ‘Without You’ stripped live video

Her latest single ‘Things You Do’ is garnering strong support and rave reviews from BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, The 405, ILUVLIVE and The Hype Magazine, among others, and with her recently released stripped version of ‘Leave Me Be’ being championed by Clash Music, AXS and R&B Supreme, to mention a few, British Soul songstress Cherri V is having an outstanding final quarter of the year, as she gears up to the release of her long awaited debut album Brown Eyed Soul.

The second instalment of her stripped series, as premiered by EARMILK, sees Cherri V strip back her fan-favourite ‘Without You’ single, with the help of musician Hannah V (Rihanna, JP Cooper). Originally produced by Harmony Samuel (Ariane Grande, Chris Brown, Fifth Harmony), Cherri V turns the record into a resounding piano-led ballad, which places Cherri’s glorious and expansive vocals up front and center, and allows her tongue-in-cheek lyrics to play a much more expressive role.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Leave Me Be’, and how the stripped live video came about, Cherri V says, “Many couples can relate to the concept of ‘Without You’, it’s very tongue in cheek and captures the comical side of differences in the household, with the simple ‘matter of fact’ lyrics resonating with listeners. This stripped version really gave me a chance to showcase and stretch my vocals that little bit more, and working with Hannah V pushes me to do just that”.

With mere months until the long-awaited release of Brown Eyed Soul in 2018, the anticipation for the album continues to build among fans and critics. Having given us a taste of what to expect of this moment, over the years – with three acclaimed EPs, a UK top 20 single, and landmark collaborations with Jessie J, Dawn Richard, Wiley and Lethal Bizzle – Cherri V is finally ready to come into her own as one of UK’s the finest vocalists and performers.
