UK singer-songwriter Ava Rene recently performed at iluvlive

On 6th November Ava Rene took to the iluvlive stage at Zigfrid von Underbelly alongside artists such as Alicai Harley, Baby Queens, Rose Gray and Tubbyboy, to showcase a couple of her songs.

Ava first came to iluvlive a few years ago where she watched a friend of hers perform and couldn’t pass up the opportunity when a slot became available for her. She always thought the venue was “fantastic always bringing great artists on board to showcase” so she thought why not give it a go.

The Tanzanian beauty who has been influenced by Whitney Houston and Nina Simone from a young age graced us with her soothing voice and had us in a trance as she sang Craziest days and Okay. These songs were ones for the ladies and were sure to get you in your feelings; they surely had me and the audience swaying from side to side.

Although admitting she was nervous Ava gave us a great performance which had me wondering if she should be nervous more often. Her unique sound is full of soul with a pop-ish vibe so if you’re looking for something which is a bit eclectic then she’s undoubtedly an artist you should give a listen to. Additionally, she is very sweet and humble and it was great to speak to her after her performance.

I would compare her to artists such as Willow Smith and Connie Constance in terms of sound AND I can confirm that she sounds just as great live as she does on a track, so if you do get an opportunity to listen to her live don’t hesitate! Her video for Craziest days will be out soon so keep a look out for this as well as releases of her new music on her socials.

Ava’s debut single ‘Okay’ will be available from all major digital outlets on the 8th December 2017
