Forming Blackstar in the late 90’s, Talib Kweli and the almighty Mos Def released their seminal, album, ‘Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star’ in 1998. The huge success of this album confirmed Kweli’s place amongst the greats of hip hop.

Alongside his work with Mos Def, Talib Kweli’s solo career has been incredibly successful. Releasing his critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘Quality’ in 2002 Kweli was catapulted to musical fame. The album featured a young and unknown rapper who now goes by the name, Kanye West.

Kweli has been consistently releasing thought-provoking and inspirational albums and collaborations over the last 2 decades
Alongside touring the world, managing his own label ‘Blacksmith Records’ and being a strong social activist, Kweli is still writing and creating music that his fans can connect and relate to. Expect to hear a mixture of old classics and new music at Electric Brixton this November.
