‘Teen No More’ is the latest release from Liverpool based Alt-R&B phenom, Sub Blue

Taking his name from his self-described style of music, “suburban blues”, Sub Blue offers a fresh take on chilled out, alternative introspective R&B. Following up his BBC Radio 1Xtra playlisted debut ‘Hype Like Supreme’, the Merseyside based singer-songwriter delivers something fresh with ‘Teen No More’.

‘Teen No More’ features minimalist electronic R&B production topped with emotive vocals by Sub Blue as he explores the issues of growing into early ‘adulthood’ and everything that brings with it.

“I wrote ‘Teen No More’ about the fear of growing up and having to accept full responsibility for everything we do. [As teens] We often live our life not really thinking or knowing what can happen next but we have the confidence to know we are going to make things happen. That’s the kind of theme here”

The articulation of this coming of age song was approached in an refreshing way – with Sub Blue choosing to write the verses from the perspective of ‘parents’ or ‘adults”’ and the choruses and middle 8 as a teen’s response to their advice. This thought-provoking yet easy to digest approach to his lyrics has quickly garnered the budding prospect acclaim for his ability to reflect the complexity of youth culture, with kudos coming from the likes of Notion, The Line Of Best Fit and Earmilk.

‘Teen No More’ was produced by A.V (Frank Ocean) and Grammy winner Sir Dylan (The Weeknd, Solange, Miguel, Logic).

‘Teen No More’ is available to stream now on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and other digital platforms.
