Taken from her debut EP ‘With Love, From Yesterday’, ‘Feel No Pain’ is the latest single from UK singer-songwriter J’Danna

South London vocalist and J’Danna today unveiled her striking debut EP, With Love, From Yesterday. The EP serves as a milestone for J’Danna on her new label home, 37 Adventures, having only arrived in late 2017 with the vivid, energetic ‘All I Need’, a song co-wrote and produced with her friend Tev’n. The track served as a metaphor for enjoying yourself, staying focused and apply yourself to the things that truly matter. Alongside ‘All I Need’ on the record is new single ‘Feel No Pain’, which sees J’Danna following a similar path, empowered to bounce back after a relationship that went sour.

‘Feel No Pain’ was premiered by BBC 1Xtra tastemaker Toddla T as his Coldest Record in the World, and has gone on to receive sustained airplay at the station, building on support from Toddla and DJ Target around ‘All I Need’, which was also on regular rotation at BBC Radio 1 thanks to Huw Stephens.

Inspired by overcoming adversity, ‘Feel No Pain’ captures a sense of liberation with J’Danna explaining,

“Music is a great way to document our experiences; those that have past and ones we hope for. It helps us process how we’re feeling, the soundtrack to our trials to triumph, it can teach us, remind us, guide us. Sometimes, it doesn’t make much sense, but it feels good and sits well with us or alternatively it challenges us. It’s healing, it’s empowering. It’s one of few things that can truly unite us.”

Whilst J’Danna might seem brand new to most, she has spent the past few years writing songs around touring with American R&B legend Jocelyn Brown as a backing singer, recording a Gilles Peterson Brownswood Basement session and providing vocals on Julio Bashmore’s Knockin’ Boots album. Having grown up singing in her local church choir, ‘All I Need’ and now ‘Feel No Pain’ mark her first thrilling foray as a solo artist in her own right, with plenty more moves in the pipeline throughout 2018.

‘With Love, From Yesterday’ is available now via all major digital outlets.
