Fluid, dynamic soundscapes: ‘Zero Movement’ is the latest release from UK producer and artist, HUME

Having recently arrived on the scene with his slick debut ‘Real Close’, Buckingham-shire’s HUME gives us another taste of the natural talent and prowess that earned praise from across the tastemaker world. The new release ‘Zero Movement’ is another tender of-fering that again puts the young-producer’s distinct gravel-flecked vocal at the forefront, neatly supported by a complex, yet delicate electronic production.

Fluid, dynamic soundscapes and slow rolling West Coast R&B grooves of the 1990s evolve through ‘Zero Movement’ with soft electronic elements interlacing with minimal percussion conjure instant comparisons to the rich sounds of Honne or AlunaGeorge. It is the effortless intensity that unfolds throughout the track that defines HUME as a seri-ous name in his own right – truly a song for chill out reflection and late summer nights.

Speaking on the track, HUME states:

“Zero Movement was written all about being totally infatuated with someone and getting nothing back, but realising that it all comes from my hesitancy and lack of confidence at making the first move… Being stuck in the middle!”

Once again, HUME demonstrates the unquestionable ability and technical craftsmanship that we can expect to hear a lot more of as 2018 unravels.
