Influenced by modern and old-school artists: Introducing UK singer-songwriter, Angie

Angie was born in Nairobi, Kenya in October 1998 and adopted by her German parents at the age of 2. She grew up in Berlin, Germany before relocating to London after graduating from High School in Summer 2017, in order to pursue her career in music. She has had a natural desire for music from an early age on, attending multiple choirs, stage academies, singing contests and vocal lessons throughout the years.

Angie started songwriting at the age of 16 through a statewide youth music competition, she continued honing her craft and collaborating with local writers. Her influences range from modern to old-school artists such as Pharrell, Bruno, Prince and Diana Ross. Having attended music conferences all over Europe during her High School years in order to connect with creatives and executives of the industry, she now spends most of her time writing and recording new material.

Universe and The Citizen ‘Blame It On My Body’ ft. Angie is an EDM-influenced pop song with vocals singing over smoothing guitar strings and 80’s-influenced synths and lyrics showcasing that girls can be just as sexual pleasure seeking without wanting to have any feelings involved. Being labeled as having “mega potential” with “exceptional vocals” by Playground Director Warren M the track is set to make its waves on the local music scene.
