Meet Swedish Producer and DJ, Nick Taste

What inspired you to begin a career in music?

I used to listen to a lot of hip hop and R&B in the beginning of 2007 until 2011, I started watching  videos on YouTube and discovered EDM. For me, it was epic I really loved it. I remember it like it was yesterday, what really inspired me was me watching big EDM festivals like Tomorrowland , Ultra Music Festival and Summerburst in Sweden. What I really loved was the music and the crowd feeling, I saw energy, happiness and love.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

If I really need to choose one person who made me open my eyes and realize “this is what I want to do” I  would have to say DJ Tiesto. Tiesto is not only my biggest influences, he is my idol.

Everyone experiences good days and bad days, as a musician, when you have a bad day, what motivates you to keep moving and look ahead to the future?

Good days or bad days, it doesn’t matter to me – If I really want to do something, not just now, but forever there is nothing that can stop me doing what I love. There will always be people who hate on you and want to see you fail.  To be honest that kind of negative energy only makes me more motivated to succeed.

In your own opinion, what is the most meaningful song you wrote/produced? What makes you say that one?

I would say my recent track ‘Trippy’ because this track was very difficult and hard to make, It took me 3 months to produce it. This was a challenge for me and I like challenges.

The story behind ‘Trippy’ is that I got many ideas from music that I listen to every single day, and I just wanted to try something new, something different.

What does the foreseeable future hold for you as an artist?

I will continue produce music, try to share it to as many people as possible. I will believe in myself and just be patient. I’m going to do my best to be the best and grow bigger and bigger in the music industry.
