UK singer-songwriter Hatty Keane talks new music, the pros and cons of being a musician and her latest release ‘Jealous’

Hatty has supported many of the UK’s big hitters like Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and JLS. over the years and featured on countless blogs. Still in her early 20’s Hatty has spent the last couple of years finding the sound and direction she truly believes in.

Who is Hatty Keane?

Harriet Elizabeth Keane, singer-songwriter age 23 from Manchester, UK.

Can you tell us when you started doing music?

I was aged 16 when I signed with my manager Michael at BGM Entertainment and started the process of developing into an artist.

How would you best describe your sound?

Cinematic soul!

What was the inspiration behind your latest release ‘Jealous’?

Jealous represents that out of control feeling you have when you really start liking someone and want them all to yourself.

Have you got any new music on the way?

Yes, so much! 2019 will be the year of constant releases and I am so excited to share it.

What do you enjoy most about being a musician? Is there anything you dislike also?

The freedom to be who you want to be with no rules, the excitement that no day is the same as the last, and being able to create something that comes from a place within yourself.

Dislikes: explaining to my loved ones why things don’t always go to plan in the industry, it’s just so unpredictable.

In the future who would you love to collaborate with?

Salaam Remi

If you can have your fans remember one thing about you, what would it be? Do you think you could get any better as a musician? And if so, how would you achieve that?

I would like my fans to one day remember me for my songs and I’d hope my lyrics could mean something to them or help them in a time of need. I believe as a vocalist you can always improve and I am always looking to do that with lots of rehearsals and trying different techniques. Also writing evolves as you go through different things in life so the songs are bound to get even more interesting!

What’s your ultimate direction for your music career?

Success in terms of being able to live from this career, selling albums and selling out tours.

Any last words?

Lots of love to everyone who supports my music, you are so special to me. A Massive thanks to all at BGM especially Michael, I wouldn’t be here without you!

‘Jealous’ is available now via Apple Music all major digital outlets.
