Critically-acclaimed rising Danish producer Vera drops a new collaborative project with one of the most hyped emerging talents on the Danish alt. R&B scene, Lord Siva with “Paris”.
Producer William Asingh, who goes under the moniker Vera, was best known through his work with the likes of fellow Copenhagen artists MØ and Liss. However, a hyper-talented artist in his own right, the producer quickly established himself as one of the most interesting talents on the Danish scene, with his debut-EP ‘Good Job No Conversation’ in 2017 picking up heavyweight heat across the likes of NOISEY, DIY, HIGHSNOBIETY and PITCHFORK.
Meeting through a mutual friend, the producer and rapper/singer quickly felt an urge to collaborate; Vera inviting Lord Siva to his studio, and the singer quickly transformed Vera’s sound into something else, something new. A brittle, poppy electronic instrumental that allows Lord Siva’s delicate vocal to delve and soar in equal measure. Pop meets style and Scandinavian cool restraint.
The first taste of a new collaborative EP project coming this year, “Paris” comes through equal parts Khalid and The Police – balancing the production ability of Vera with one of the most notable vocals coming out of Scandinavia right now in Lord Siva to create something that sounds immediately timeless and thrilling.
Speaking on the track, Vera and Lord Siva state:
“‘Paris’ is a love song, A love song about going crazy.”
The talent in these two rising stars is immediately apparent, fizzing all over a track that’s as undeniably catchy and stylish as anything we’ve heard this year so far. With it, the two begin to cement their reputations as true breakout names for 2019.
‘Paris’ is available now via all major digital platforms.
