Following her recent critically-acclaimed release ‘Naked’ earlier this year, rising UK singer-songwriter Ellie Rose returns with her smouldering new release ‘Audrey’ – out now via Humble Angel Records.
Having built a reputation as one of the most exciting and naturally talented female artists coming through the scene with her tracks ‘Welcome to the Kingdom’ and ‘Plastic City’ – picking up immediate support from the likes of CLASH and WONDERELAND.
‘Audrey’ is a brooding, stripped back track that sees Ellie conjure visions of luxurious Hollywood glamour, balanced with the kind of frank lyricism that continue the intrigue around this rising young artist. Speaking on the track, Ellie states: ‘Audrey’ is a lonely little number masquerading as a love ballad. I’ve written so many songs that I’ve lost track. Last year, I was looking through my old notebooks, it was page after page of heartbreak and uncertainty. It’s a story I’ve carried with me for years sprinkled with stolen memories and teardrops from incredible women I cherish and adore. The sentiment of the song is, if you are questioning if someone is good for you, the answer is they’re probably not.”
Ellie continues to develop and mature into an increasingly exciting singer-songwriter – refreshing and unapologetic, this is a welcome return for one of the city’s coolest underground emerging talents.
