Jack Hawitt is making a name for himself as one to watch for 2019. You may have heard the name Jack Hawitt after he featured on Embody’s ‘Without You’ which has exceeded 9Million Spotify plays. His collaboration with DJ Licious ‘Twisted Games’ has also tipped the 1Million mark. To add to this success, his debut single ‘Be The One’, a haunting cover of Dua Lipa’s hit, was payed on Love Island and The XFactor 2018.
Following the release of ‘Grow’ in February and after recently supporting Kelli-Leigh at The O2 Academy Islington, Jack Hawitt is giving us another taste of his atmospheric pop with latest single ‘Taking On Water’.
Taking On Water starts with a floaty guitar chord progression. Jack’s soulful vocals set a pensive tone throughout. Soft percussion and synths build to the end in a smiliar fashion to his previous single ‘Grow’.
Explaining the meaning behind the song Jack says,
“Taking On Water is about the moment when everything clicks in a new relationship. When you suddenly realise they’re under your skin – in a good way. It may not be plain sailing but that’s part of it.”
