‘One Life’ is the new EP from rap artist, Johnathan Burkett

Rapper Johnathan Burkett has just released his new EP ‘One Life’. The release follows on from his latest album ‘Ready, Set, Let’s Go’, released earlier this year.

‘One Life’ features vocals from Reggae artist Ambelique. The EP revolves around the title track, with every remix forming a completely different vibe from the next, pushing and retracting the intensity throughout. Originally a Reggae track, the remixes explore styles such as Dub, EDM and Techno/House. The lyrical content details the challenges and hardships Burkett has faced in life, looking to spread a positive, reassuring message to his audience through his personal experiences.

Living in Jamaica in his early years, Johnathan Burkett returned to US and suffered from a troubled childhood. His struggles saw him become homeless at 14, before battling a brain tumour in 2005. He turned to music as an escape, looking to better his life and others through the medium. Since stepping into music, Burkett has released a plethora of singles throughout the decade, earning over 1 million views on YouTube, leading up to the release of his debut album this year. He own and operates his own record company, Upstormed Records.

Johnathan is also a published author, having released his first book ‘Neglected But Undefeated’.

‘One Life’ is available now on all major streaming platforms.
