Hip-hop artist Razzie presents his latest release ‘Check Drop’. This is his 2nd single of the year, following on from his breakout track ‘Trapped In Ice’, released in June.
‘We have those times when our pockets are running low’, explains Razzie. The sentiment of ‘Check Drop’ encapsulates finally getting something you’ve been longing for and ‘flexing when you get it’. Foundations for the track were laid whilst Razzie was travelling to the studio to record, his mood represented perfectly in it’s sound, with heavy, distorted 808’s, unnerving orchestral passages and an energetic, infectious vocal performance.
For Floridian rapper Razzie, hip-hop has been a mainstay in his life from a very young age. Starting to rap at 14, he worked at honing his craft throughout his adolescent years, joining the collective ‘Hot Topik crew’, before deciding upon focus on a career as a solo artist. Since going solo, Razzie has released a handful of well-received singles, including ‘Trapped In Ice’, which has amassed over 300,000 streams across all streaming platforms. Citing inspirations such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake and The Notorious B.I.G, Razzie looks to bridge the gap between ‘the punch of modern hip-hop and the grit of the golden age sound’, already earning comparisons to the likes of Tory Lanez and Travis Scott.
‘Check Drop’ is available now across all streaming platforms.
