Glitter balls at the ready, London’s biggest celebration of disco, Brixton Disco Festival, returns on Saturday 2 May 2020 with its third annual, multi-venue event.

Positioned in the heart of South London, the event celebrates over 40 years of Disco, with live music, DJs, screenings, talks, food & drink in the venues surrounding Brixton’s iconic Windrush Square – Electric Brixton, POW Club, The Ritzy Picturehouse & The Black Cultural Archives.

After two sold-out events in 2018 and 2019, Brixton Disco Festival’s third edition promises to be another thrilling instalment. Continuing its 2020 announcement, joining the line-up are:

Disco and house music legend Joey Negro joins the party as a headliner. The producer has been creating soulful, disco-tinged vocal records over the past 3 decades, and as a world-wide crowd-pleaser is a welcome addition to this year’s line up. Other names joining today include Sean P Boogie (BBE Records) and Sophie Callis (BBE Records. Soho Radio) amongst many more.
Also announced today: Brixton Disco Festival will be hosting the London premiere of Larry’s Garage – The Story of Larry Levan and Paradise Garage at the Ritzy Cinema. Legendary NYC nightclub Paradise Garage is the subject of this film, and central to the story of legendary resident DJ Larry Levan. In addition, the festival announce a brand new outdoor stage and street food hub at Brixton Village, ‘Roots of Disco All Dayer’.

Previously announced:

Spearheading the revival of house, disco and electronic soul, Crazy P will be bringing their phenomenal live show to back to South London after a recent sold-out show at Electric Brixton, and on the tails of smash hit new album ‘Age of the Ego’.

Also announced is definitive diva of the dance decade, Jocelyn Brown. Boasting a career spanning five decades, Jocelyn’s impact on contemporary music is unmistakable, with hits including the classic ‘Somebody Else’s Guy’, and ‘Always There’.

John Morales is considered one of true legends of the mix, with his work continuing to be cutting edge and inspiring. The Bronx native will bring the party to Brixton in May.

The Reflex takes his cue from the original remixers, using only the original sounds from the master tapes to rearrange, extend and breathe new life into music, and counts Noel Gallagher amongst his fans. He’ll be on the bill alongside Yorkshire lad Mighty Mouse who has been steadily building a reputation for his eclectic, energetic DJ sets.

Also joining: Rooty Rooftop Party with Tayo & Frank Hope, and local group of classically-trained instrumentalists, Brixton Chamber Orchestra. With many more announced including Yam Who? (Midnight Riot Records), Up On The Roof, and Tropical Disco Records, the countdown is on to the 2020 multi-venue spectacular.

Further headliners, screenings, Q&As and announcements to come.
