Undoubtedly one of the UK’s brightest breakout names in R&B last year, Manchester-born Pip Millett follows on from her acclaimed releases ‘Make Me Cry’, ‘Love the Things You Do’ and her debut EP Do Well with a striking new release ‘Deeper Dark’ – the second teaser from her second EP, coming in April.
A typically ravishing vocal performance from Pip is highlighted by a bed of simple electric guitar licks; ‘Deeper Dark’ is a story centred around a fear of commitment.
With a remarkable COLORS Berlin performance of her debut release ‘Make Me Cry’ (over 2.7M views and counting) establishing Pip as a unique new talent, she released her debut EP ‘Do Well’ at the end of June last year alongside a feature length visual directed by KC Locke (Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Mahalia) who reached out after hearing her music.
Making increasing waves ever since that track in both the UK and US with the likes of THE FADER, PIGEONS & PLANES, i-D, WONDERLAND and GRAZIA all proclaiming a potent new force, Pip picked up viral support across the likes of BBC R1 and 1Xtra – her unique style and ability to address heavyweight topics connecting further with each release (including a certain Jorja Smith, who continues to champion her).
Pip’s blend of pure vocal talent and natural emotional connect continues to define her as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists. With two headline shows in Manchester and London confirmed for April, ‘Deeper Dark’ sets the tone for what’s sure to be another milestone year for the 22 year-old.
‘Deeper Dark’ is available now via all major platforms.
