L.A based artist, WavelQ, has returned with not just inspirational tracks in his latest album ‘Arcadia’, but juicy visuals that show just how creative the talented artist is.
The Woodbridge, Virginia born creative was raised in a productive family, where his father brought home music production software that allowed the then fourteen year old to produce beats that changed the future of hip hop.
Since then it’s been an experimental journey, from producing “Fallen” for Jaden Smith, where he also joined Jaden’s Vision tour in 2018, as well as other recording artists such as VanJess, Goldlink and Allan Kingdom to taking what he learnt from those experiences and put it into focusing on his solo work. This journey allowed him to perfect his craft as an artist and producer, which led him to L.A.
WavelQ is an artist who won’t stop until he has made a change in the culture, until he has followed in the footsteps of his musical heroes such as Q-Tip and J-Dilla. Creating change is also why he was a key part of the team behind Goldlinks ‘Diaspora’ album as well as being called a ‘Lighthouse’ by Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest for his generation – WavelQ is making a difference already.
The new visuals represent who WavelQ is as a person, he goes to the local dollar arcades around L.A when not working on music and those arcades a prominent feature alongside 90’s inspired looks in the latest music video. The new project represents two things, the representation of the change WavelQ wants to make in this world and the mixture of influences in his life combined into an album that will make any listener want more.
‘Arcadia’ is available now via all major platforms
