Caught in the motions of unintentionally hurting someone you love: ‘I Gotta’ is the debut release from Belle Eve

Caught in the motions of unintentionally hurting someone you love, vocalist and songwriter, Isab Velasquez, comes through with her first solo effort under the artist name Belle Eve. Musing on the power of our words and what we do and don’t say, ‘I Gotta’ began life as a freestyle. “Even though we hold no control over other people and their emotions, we still hold so much power in our words and actions to either destroy or nurture one another. ‘I Gotta’ also evokes both the melancholy and acceptance that comes with losing a relationship,” explains Belle whose deliciously cool harmonies guide us through the funky riffs and grooving bass lines of this soulful piece.

Hitting the local live scene with Jazz-influenced band Extrapolation, Belle Eve first turned her hand to songwriting with their carrier single ‘Ghost,’ making it to Spotify Editorial playlist ‘Fresh Finds” in 2020 after bringing her vocals to singles ‘Sunshine Blue’ (2017) and ‘Shot In The Dark’ (2019) earlier on. With vocal chops that are gloriously polished, we can’t wait to see what this songwriter gets up to next!

‘I Gotta’ is available now via all major platforms.
