What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

Music has always been around me growing up. From salsa while my mom cleaned the house, to listening to hip-hop while my uncles were getting ready in the morning. Growing up my mother was strict about me leaving the house growing up in red hook Brooklyn NY, so I tried to find things to keep me busy. That’s when I started writing in a marble notebook. I finally had the courage to show some of my friends what I was doing, and they liked it, so I started recording and writing to instrumentals. Without my friends pushing me to release what I recorded I probably still would just be writing music.

After high school I stopped making music as much to begin my life in the real world but then covid happened. I decided to buy some new studio equipment and began making music again since everything was shut down. Again, my support grew pushed me to release music and network. My family also never spoke about real things and issues so I looked to writing music as an escape to get my feelings out. It kind of just happened naturally depending on the mood I was in that day. It would just flow out.

What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?

My story is what’s different. All of my experiences and values I go by every day. Everyone’s story is like your fingerprint. It may sound (music) or look similar but they’re all unique in their own way.

Your new EP ‘Love Letters’ is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the project?

‘Love Letters’ was written because I wanted something people can relate to. It also served as an outlet to express how I felt in my own relationship like in ‘Eight’ and ‘Love Letters’, but I also know things aren’t always perfect. I have friends who talk to me about their issues in their relationships and also some things in mine to create a mix of happy and bad times in the EP.

Things aren’t always perfect and that’s ok. I’m hoping people can relate to that and sense the emotion in the songs. From angry or upset to happy where they are in their relationship. The EP was not written in order but by how I felt in the moment. Ranging from upset or angry to being happy and fulfilled. That’s the roller-coaster every relationship goes through, but the end goal is to ride it out because things always get better.

Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any ‘wow’ moments?

The main ‘wow’ moment for me was seeing how much support I’ve been getting from my followers. The amount of times they repost my songs or reels is a great feeling. I really have people who like my music enough to help give it a push, that there means everything to me. It also tells me I’m going in the right direction.

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

Keep doing what you love no matter what anyone says. You’ll get people telling you it’s tough to make it but you don’t do music to “make it” you do it for the love of the art.

What does the foreseeable future hold for you as an artist?

I’m going to continue doing music because it’s what I love to do and if anything further comes my way I am ready for it. Best case scenario I would love to write music for movies or tv shows.

Anything else you would like to add?

All love to everyone out there who’s helping to get my music heard. I’ll be dropping music all year consistently and I hope everyone will continue to support. Much love to everyone.

‘Love Letters’ EP is available now via all major platforms.
