London-based artist Luvrite, with Dutch-Taiwanese roots, makes a striking debut with his first single Naked Minds, a laid-back, dreamy R&B track.
Built on intricately produced layers of smooth instrumentation and lush harmonies, Naked Minds lays the foundation for Luvrite’s honest, introspective lyricism. “I’m in love with your naked mind, girl,” he sings, delivering a standout vocal performance that explores the beauty of emotional openness and raw connection.
Speaking on the track, Luvrite shares:
“I wrote ‘Naked Minds’ nearly four years ago, not long after I moved to London. At the time, I was craving something deeper in my relationships. It’s a song about daring to drop the mask. Three years later, after regaining my voice, I feel like I’ve finally become the person I was trying to be in that song. Open, honest, and surrounded by incredible people. We recorded it between my bedroom and my friend Luke Ashby’s place, and polished it with the help of New Machine (Jorja Smith, Maverick Sabre). Even though it’s the oldest song on the project, it still feels the most relevant. That’s why it opens the ‘Slowly Rushing’ EP.”
Originally from Rotterdam, Luvrite moved to London at just 18 to chase his dream. With a background in songwriting and production, including ghostwriting for notable A-list talent, he was on a steady rise when in 2021 he was forced to pause after losing his voice due to medical complications. Now, at 22, he’s back with renewed purpose and a debut project that’s both intimate and resonant.
His upcoming six-track EP Slowly Rushing is a deeply personal body of work. It speaks to the modern-day pressures faced by young creatives, navigating cultural identity, ambition, and emotional burnout, all while blending neo-soul textures with dark pop-influenced synths to craft a unique sonic world.
With Naked Minds as a stunning introduction, Luvrite sets the tone for a promising chapter. The single is more than a debut. It’s a reintroduction and a bold signal that Luvrite is an artist to watch closely in 2025.
