Introducing British singer-songwriter, Emily Craig and her upbeat reflection on the contradictions of the modern world ‘Post Truth’

British songwriter, vocalist and producer Emily Craig releases new single, ‘Post Truth’, available now via all major platforms.

A refined storyteller, Emily Craig paints playful images to a soundscape of dreamy melodies and a driving rhythm section with her undeniably pure, yet powerful, voice.

Written whilst living abroad in Spain, the song is an upbeat reflection on the contradictions of the modern world. Lyrics such as ‘these days it’s not about where you are, it’s only where you’ve been’ and that’s my generation, with a life made up in screen’, reflect on the fact that our lives have become dominated by social media. We are often led to believe everything we see and hear online, to the point where the ‘truth’ becomes abstract.

After attracting the attention of BBC Introducing, ‘Post Truth’ was premiered on Saturday 1st May on BBC Radio Berkshire. Emily was interviewed by BBC Introducing’s Alex West prior to its first airplay who described ‘Post Truth’ as ‘a fantastic tune’.

Emily Craig fuses smooth, honeyed vocals, with quirky, honest lyrics. After training classically in voice and piano, Emily honed her craft singing with jazz bands at venues including The Adelphi Theatre and Ronnie Scott’s whilst studying languages at University College London. A combination of her love of music, writing and languages influenced Emily to craft a repertoire of original material whilst living in France and Spain. She was inspired by stories of people she met whilst busking on the streets of Granada, jazz fusion jams in Lyon and living in a house of 19 students from all over the world.

Emily recorded demos of these songs at producer Youth’s Space Mountain Studio in Sierra Nevada and has spent the last year refining these tracks whilst completing an MA in music production at London’s Tile yard Studios. Emily has already made a name for herself as part of London’s acoustic scene, performing on both guitar and piano at venues such as The Water Rats and Paper Dress Vintage.

‘Post Truth’ is available now via all major platforms.
