Born in the heart of hip hop, the Bronx: Introducing rising rap artist Ray Pearson

Born in the heart of hip hop, the Bronx, Artist Ray Pearson has been a fan of hip-hop for as long as he can remember. With greats like Biggie and Grandmaster Flash on the radio he always knew that he would one day be standing among the legends himself. Inspired personally by his older brother Mello and musical influences such as Eminem, Big Pun, Cuban Link & Jay-Z, he applied parts of their lyrical resonance into his sound and became his own artist.

In 2014 and in 2015 he was nominated twice for The Essence of Hip Hop Award for the Underground Music Awards. Later on in 2015, Ray was recognized as he won the Artist on the Rize award for the Hip Hop Junky awards show. Following that he released his project “Beast Un-Kaged” which picked up nominations for the 2016 Hip Hop Junky Awards Show in which he won 2016 “Verse of the Year”, “Most Underrated” and “Album of the Year” for Beast Un-Kaged.

Since then he has opened for Joell Ortiz, Jeru The Damaga , Styles P , Jimmy Kang (Wu Tang Mgmt) , and Tony Touch. He has participated in numerous cyphers including Cypher Circuit, and Grind Mode Cypher. The world will be waiting to see what the young emcee has in store for us. With his passion and drive mixed with his lyrical skills, he will become a force that the hip hop industry has never dealt with.
