Charlie Jeer Teams Up With Cat Burns on ‘small talk’

Charlie Jeer continues his rapid rise with the release of ‘small talk’, a new collaboration with acclaimed singer songwriter Cat Burns, out 9 September 2026. Following more than 150 million global streams, BBC FIFA World Cup syncs and a sold out London headline show at Village Underground, the new single marks another exciting chapter for the 23 year old artist.

Following his recent single ‘My Madonna’ and summer collaboration ‘SO GOOD’ featuring British Indian singer, songwriter and actress Simone Ashley, ‘small talk’ brings together Charlie’s saxophone led sound with disco pop influences, rich musicality and warm, expansive production.

At the heart of the track is a feeling of hope. ‘small talk’ captures the excitement that comes with new beginnings, while reflecting on the possibility and potential that can come with stepping into something unfamiliar. It is an optimistic record that feels perfectly suited to Charlie’s growing reputation for creating music that sits comfortably between polished pop production and live musicianship.

The collaboration with Cat Burns came together naturally after Cat commented on one of Charlie’s TikTok videos. What began online soon developed into a musical partnership, with Cat adding her distinctive warm and raspy vocal to the second verse.

Charlie explains: ‘The first song of my EP take away my problems, small talk is a song that captures the hope of beginnings, an optimistic song about potential. Getting Cat Burns’ warm, raspy vocal to sing verse two effortlessly compliments the sonics of the song so well and I’m really happy to have her be a part of this project.’

Cat Burns adds: ‘Charlie’s super talented and so lovely! When he told me about this song and showed it to me I immediately loved it. It’s so smooth, cool and just a very exciting piece of art to be a part of.’

The release arrives at a time when Charlie’s momentum is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. His collaboration with Simone Ashley, ‘SO GOOD’, has been generating around 100,000 daily streams, alongside support from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, BBC Radio 2 and Elton John’s Rocket Hour.

Away from streaming, Charlie has built a significant audience across social media, with more than 118 million TikTok views and over 2,000 pieces of user generated content. His live performances have also helped turn online attention into a genuine connection with audiences. Footage of him performing ‘Her Eyes’ at Bittersweet Festival has surpassed 1.4 million views across TikTok and Instagram, while fans around the world continue to ask for new cities and dates.

That live energy was recently on full display when Charlie performed to 10,000 people while supporting Becky Hill on the Canterbury leg of her tour. He later joined Ella Eyre on stage to perform ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’, adding another memorable moment to a year already filled with significant milestones.
