Rising British soul R&B artist Geo Baddoo isn’t here to shout for attention, but with the release of her stunning new single ‘Look At Me’, the world is starting to listen anyway.
Following on from the success of her previous offering My Turn, a track that caught the attention of COLORS, VIBE Magazine, ThisIsRnB and Pinch of Sol, Geo returns with a song that feels like a personal reset. Warm, intentional and rich with emotional clarity, Look At Me is less about ego and more about alignment. It’s a soft but firm declaration: “This is who I am, take it or leave it.”
Co-produced with Germany’s Tytanium (whose credits include Joeboy and Moelogo), the track arrives just in time for summer with a sonic palette that fuses elements of deep house, soul, R&B and jazz. But it’s Geo’s voice — soulful, silky and fiercely grounded — that anchors the entire experience. Lyrically, she dances between vulnerability and self-possession, with lines like “I don’t wanna hide anymore” and “I’d shine like a star if you let me” hitting like quiet revelations.
“I wrote this song after spending time in L.A., where I felt like everyone was performing, online and in real life,” Geo shares. “Look At Me is about tuning out the noise and remembering who I am without the mask. There’s a lightness in it, but also a lot of power.”
That balance between gentle and powerful, soft and unshakable has become Geo’s signature. Raised in a quiet Somerset village, her musical upbringing was shaped by her father’s home studio and an eclectic mix of influences, from Mary J. Blige and Al Green to Nina Simone and David Bowie. Over the years, she’s honed her voice in every sense of the word, not just vocally, but artistically. And it shows.
The new single is a masterclass in restraint and soul. With delicate harmonies, immersive production and phrasing that lands with grace and purpose, Look At Me feels both timeless and completely current, like something you’ve been waiting to hear, even if you didn’t know it yet.
While the spotlight is beginning to find her, Geo Baddoo’s journey has been one of quiet dedication. She’s already graced some of the most iconic stages across the UK, Europe and the US, from Union Chapel in London to Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, and even joined The Teskey Brothers on their UK and European tour. Still, she approaches her career not with urgency, but with intention.
Her sound has drawn comparisons to artists like Cleo Sol, Snoh Aalegra and Raveena, and rightly so. But there’s something singular about Geo’s presence, an inward-facing, soul-nourishing quality that invites the listener to slow down and feel more.
“I want to show that empathy and sensitivity can exist in harmony with strength and composure,” she shares. “I can address my faults without self-deprecation, and I can feel my power without arrogance. With a world that is full of distraction and destruction, I want to stay grounded, and not stray too far from myself, so I can move with change in an authentic way.”
With Look At Me, Geo Baddoo offers a bold yet gentle reminder of what music can do when it’s rooted in truth. It’s not just a single, it’s a statement. And it marks the arrival of an artist who knows exactly who she is.
