Taken from his new collaborative project ‘Thirteen Eleven’, ‘Holding On To Hope’ is the latest single release from London based producer and DJ Jackie Marua

London based producer and DJ Jackie Marua presents his latest collaborative project ‘Thirteen Eleven’.

‘Thirteen Eleven’ is an autobiographical piece, inspired by the events leading up to and following the loss of the producer’s wife, after her struggle with depression in 2018. The couple, who were childhood sweethearts, had been married for just under two years when she died. In the aftermath of her death Jack immersed himself in making music.

Thirteen Eleven is the result of this creative period. Featuring a roster of carefully chosen artists: Dan Dare (Slang), Ryan Keen, CD Spinz and HJJ, the EP beautifully and explicitly describes his story through rap, poetry and spoken word. The project was mastered at Abbey Road Studios who will present Jackie Marua as one of their featured artists this year.

Jackie was recently made an ambassador for the suicide bereavement charity Suicide & Co who will be supporting the release of this project.

The project is going to tour the UK as a listening exhibition with featured photographs over 2022-2023. It’s aim is to build awareness of events that surround a tragedy like this and reach out to those who have experienced similar by sharing and talking about grief and loss and creating a physical space for this.

‘Holding On To Hope’ is the first release from the project. ‘Holding On To Hope’ is a compelling story of tragic loss and unconditional love, an emotional letter for anyone who has or is currently grieving a loved one.

Over the last 12 months Jackie has performed the BBC Introducing stage at Boardmasters 2021, produced the track Good Girl on Stay Sane, the latest album from Ocean Wisdom, which received chart success and critical acclaim and is currently working with Too Many Ts, Miki Rose and Tease and Reset.

Jackie Marua has had praise from BBC Introducing, DJ Sarah Gosling, DJ Ace and Jamz Supernova on 1Xtra and DJ Complexion’s Future Beats show. Marua Moods is the producer’s monthly radio show on Music Box Radio, every third Friday night of the month between 7-9pm.

‘Thirteen Eleven’ is available now via all major platforms.
