Introducing singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Giana Luna

Giana Luna

Giana Luna, a Philadelphia native, embarked on her music career within the local scene. Between 2014 and 2017, she signed with a local label, releasing an EP, a Christmas single, and an album. Later going independent, her music from this era vanished from the internet due to personal and professional reasons. Regardless, Giana has performed her music along the East Coast (NY, NJ, PA, DL, and WV) and enjoyed local and online radioplay since 2014.

In 2021, Giana became a full-time member of Howl at the Moon in Philadelphia, a dueling piano bar chain known for its all-request format. She mastered drums and bass for this gig, adding to her skills on piano, ukulele, and guitar.

Giana’s songwriting blends pop with folk, featuring diary-like lyrics wrapped in pop melodies spanning acoustic folk-pop to synthy, dreamy pop. Debut single ‘Twilight Champagne,’ released on August 31st, 2023, was originally recorded in her bedroom with just a Casio keyboard in 2018. It was mixed and mastered by her Canadian friend, Chris Markevich. She aims to release a full debut album of daydreamy tunes in 2024/2025.

‘Twilight Champagne,’ captures the magic of twilight, transitioning from day to night with blues and purples. The song opens with piano and vocals, gradually enveloped in sparkling synths, inviting listeners into a wistful, rainy summer evening.

Beyond music, Giana is the founder, co-host, and audio engineer for the Shoujo Sundae podcast, reviewing shojo anime with a lighthearted yet critical approach, sprinkled with ice cream puns.

Giana is a fiercely creative juggler, continuously pursuing multiple projects, cementing her status as a rising artist in the music and podcasting realms.

‘Twilight Champagne’ is available now via Bandcamp, Spotify and all major platforms.
