Irish soul songstress shiv has unveiled her highly anticipated new track “cherry pie,” featuring fellow countryman Kojaque.

This release effortlessly combines shiv’s beautifully smooth sound with an infectious beat that radiates an instant summer vibe, perfectly complemented by Kojaque’s distinctive tones. The track revolves around the theme of coming home to oneself, stepping away from constant growth and evolution to savor rare moments of peace.
Discussing the production process, shiv shares, “Gaptoof and I started working on this track after I sent him a DM about hearing his song on the music podcast Are We Live back in January 2022, which sparked the beginning of our collaborative journey. We went back and forth with a couple of tracks, but ‘cherry pie’ always stood out.” With Gaptoof and Kojaque being labelmates at Softboy Records, it felt like a natural evolution for Kojaque to feature on the track. shiv adds, “Being a huge fan of his, it really felt like the perfect addition.”
Following the release of her first single “limerence” from her highly anticipated album “the defiance of a sad girl,” set to drop on September 12th, shiv is clearly on an upward trajectory. Her live performances and refreshing production have already garnered support from The Face, Notion, Hotpress, and Clash, making 2024 poised to be a standout year for the rising star.
