Smoove in Ministry of Sound. The legendary club night returned for one special night, bringing the true sound of London: House, Garage, Funky, RnB, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, and Dancehall across 4 arenas.
I hadn’t been out in ages, and honestly, this was exactly what me and my girls needed. From the moment we stepped through the doors of Ministry of Sound, it felt like stepping into a different world – one where good vibes, proper music, and real energy took over everything. Smoove’s 25th anniversary wasn’t just a throwback; it was like experiencing a nostalgic night from the past, but somehow in the future. Timeless and fresh all at once.
The energy was mad. Every room was packed to the brim, and the crowd was a beautiful mix of cultures, all moving together, all there for the same reason… to feel the music. There was no pretence, just people from all walks of life dancing like nobody was watching. It was vibrant, youthful, and full of life. You could feel the history in the air, but the energy felt brand new.
The Box was a time capsule and a future vision all at once. Artful Dodger, Masterstepz, and Maximum reminded us why UKG and Funky will never die, while Supa D + Terminal 4 and Crazy Cousinz injected new life into classic vibes. Every drop sent shockwaves through the packed room bodies moving, hands up, b-lines heavy.
Over in 103, the vibes were undeniable. Rampage and Shortee Blitz threw down back-to-back bangers like it was Carnival in a club. Donch, Damn Shaq, and Sir DJ Corey kept the crowd lit from start to finish! Pure energy and nostalgia wrapped in one.
The Loft was more intimate but no less electric. AAA, Aychibs, Mastaque, and Shaolinwavy took us on a deeper journey through sound—Afrobeats, soul, r&b and slick transitions that hit just right. It felt like a proper underground link-up. But in a loft!
The Baby Box turned into a sweatbox of vibes. Sef Kombo, Morgan Black, S Fly, and CVSS brought the soulful heat funky grooves and deep house cuts that had everyone in a trance.
Overall I thought it was great. It was the kind of night that reminded us what it’s all about: good music, good people, no stress. Just pure fun and energy. Smoove gave exactly what it was supposed to give. The memories, the music, the vibe a week on and me and the girls are still talking about it!
