Following a string of head-turning singles, Swedish Grammy-nominated artist Izza Gara has unveiled her highly anticipated EP Superbia Hardcore. Known for her refreshing blend of 2000s-inspired Electro, Pop and R&B, the rising star continues to capture attention from key tastemakers including Ones To Watch, COLORS, Stanisland Magazine, FAME Magazine and more. Set to mark a defining chapter in her musical journey, Superbia Hardcore reveals a more personal and reflective side of the artist we’ve grown to love.
Spanning six carefully crafted tracks, Superbia Hardcore is a nostalgic yet forward-thinking exploration of identity, empowerment and self-discovery. Drawing inspiration from the music that shaped her teenage years, the project sees Izza return to a more instinctive, honest way of creating – one rooted in emotion rather than perfection.
The EP opens with Favour, a track that boldly challenges the derogatory attitudes often directed at women, radiating empowerment through its nostalgic soundscape. It moves seamlessly into OVU (pronounced “Over You”), a shimmering reflection on release and vulnerability, embracing the courage it takes to move on while remaining open to love. With her signature silky vocals gliding over hypnotic percussion, Izza transitions into Love Me featuring rising newcomer LYAM. The pair complement each other’s tones effortlessly, exploring themes of validation and self-worth in relationships, and the risk of losing oneself while trying to please others.
A short yet contemplative Grocery Shopping Interlude offers a breath between the highs, leading into 3000, Izza’s collaboration with UK innovator Miso Extra. Built on a sleek self-produced beat that bridges the worlds of Swedish electronica and British hip hop, the track feels futuristic yet deeply nostalgic. Both artists deliver a striking performance that pushes creative boundaries while maintaining emotional intimacy.
The journey concludes with Superbia, the EP’s title track and emotional centrepiece. Filled with a sense of closure and clarity, Izza reflects on her growth, finding self-awareness and peace after years of internal conflict. It is both an ending and a new beginning, paying tribute to her younger self and affirming her commitment to authenticity.
Speaking about the inspiration behind Superbia Hardcore, Izza explains,
“Creating this EP, I wanted to channel myself as a young teen and return to the moment when I first discovered my taste. It’s not the most mature music I’ve made, but it’s the most instinctive. I worked with limited elements, without overthinking or overproducing – just creating for the joy of it.”
She continues,
“In recent years, I’ve felt more at home in myself than ever, but I’ve also questioned whether that makes me harder to love. I came across the Latin word Superbia, meaning pride – one of the seven deadly sins – represented by a woman gazing at her reflection, condemned for her self-admiration. That image stayed with me. The tension between desire and independence, and between vulnerability and defiance, became the heart of this project.”

Born and raised in Gothenburg with Turkish and Swedish roots, Izza Gara is one of the most exciting voices emerging from Sweden’s alternative electronic scene. Her creative journey began in the underground dance community, shaped by early 2000s music videos and MTV’s golden era. Beyond music, her background in visual arts and design continues to inform her approach to performance and storytelling.
Now based in Stockholm, Izza is celebrated for her expressive vocals, stripped-back production and genre-bending sound. Her 2023 EP *YOUNG* marked a turning point, followed by international collaborations with Jerry Folk, Figtape and Berlin’s Moritz, earning her both a Swedish Grammy nomination and a Norwegian Spellemann Award in 2025.
With performances at BY:LARM, CYME Festival and Jungfrukällarn, and playlisting on Spotify’s POLLEN, Fresh Finds, Alt/Pop, Oyster, NMF Sweden, New Music Friday UK, and Apple Music’s New Music Daily, RnB Now, Sounds of Sweden, Izza’s reach continues to expand.
