Zardee from East London is an emerging artist whose talent and versatility make him one to watch. From a young age, he was significantly influenced by T-Pain, and his very first single in 2009, the viral Funky House track ‘Ring-A-Roses,’ marked the beginning of his journey. Over the years, Zardee experimented with various sounds until he finally discovered his niche, drawing inspiration from artists like Shakka and Masego.
Zardee describes his music as a blend of Contemporary R&B, with elements of commercial Jazz and Melodic Rap, resulting in a distinctive and modern style. Known in the industry as Bigz the Host, Zardee is not just a musician but a multifaceted entertainer. He DJs and hosts events for numerous artists and influencers such as Trey Songz, Krept & Konan, and Wretch 32. His hosting prowess was showcased on the Pepsi Stage at Wireless in 2020, and he has toured with Biga Tobz. Recently, he opened for Amaria BB at Afronation 2022 and hosted Stefflon Don’s birthday celebration.
Zardee’s latest release ‘Thank you’ is out now. When asked about the creative process and inspiration behind the track, he explains
“The creation of this song began on a sunny morning as I was driving to work. The weather was perfect, and the warmth of the sun filled me with a sense of joy and contentment. I felt incredibly grateful for where I was in life, reflecting on the journey and the progress I had made in my music career. As I drove, the positive emotions began to stir within me, and I found myself humming a tune. The melody seemed to capture the essence of my happiness and appreciation. I pulled out my phone and recorded a voice memo of the initial idea so I wouldn’t lose the inspiration.”
Although Zardee is indeed a music artist, he prefers the term ‘Entertainer’ due to his diverse talents. He has acted in short films and appeared as an extra in the 2021 Tarzan movie. His ability to engage and entertain across various platforms highlights his unique presence in the entertainment industry. As a musician, host, and actor, Zardee continues to showcase his multifaceted talent, making significant strides in his career.
