A Poetic Exploration of Longing and Fantasy: Soane Returns With ‘Bluer Skies’

Bridging the energy of Paris and New York, French-Moroccan artist Soane returns from a brief hiatus with her anticipated new single Bluer Skies, released independently on 16 May.

Known for her distinct brand of melancholic minimalism, sensuality, and poetic introspection, Soane brings a renewed intimacy to Bluer Skies. Produced in Paris by GRAMMY-nominated talent The 25th Hour, the track’s delicate arrangement sets a spacious backdrop for Soane’s silky vocals and fluid melody lines. Lush backing harmonies and soft yet complex instrumentation heighten the emotional undercurrent, as she sings “You know where to find me, you know where I hide”—weaving a tale of imagination, distance, and desire.

Speaking on the track, Soane shares:

“Bluer Skies feels like the longing for a connection that lives within the imagination. It’s the tension between running toward something patience is calling for.”

The single marks a confident return for the artist following the success of her 2019 debut EP First Taste, which featured the standout track Teach Me How to Touch Me. That song alone earned over 300K streams and was later remixed by US-based dance producer KC Gilmore, racking up more than 4 million plays and expanding her global audience.

Building on that momentum, 2023 singles Xx and La Peine showcased a deeper emotional palette and further defined her artistry. Now, Bluer Skies signals the next evolution—an evocative sonic chapter blending soft vulnerability with artistic precision.

With more releases on the horizon, Soane is steadily carving out her lane as one of the most compelling independent voices to emerge from Europe’s alt-R&B and soul landscape. A name to watch closely in 2025.
