Rising R&B Artist jite Unleashes Vibrant New Single ‘limerence’

Rising LA based, Nigerian heritage artist and creative jite, pronounced jee tay, returns with her vibrant new single “limerence.” Continuing to shape a distinct space within contemporary R&B and pop, the young singer songwriter pairs confessional lyricism with sleek, atmospheric production that feels both intimate and immersive.

Across “limerence,” jite unpacks the quiet spiral of love, searching for something genuine within the complex spaces of vulnerability and self doubt. Gliding across hazy R&B textures, mellow drum breaks and a rolling bassline that cuts through the tension, her warm vocals sit close to the surface. There is a melodic intimacy to the performance as she explores a universal longing that gradually intensifies the deeper she pleads.

The accompanying VHS style visual, shot in Los Angeles, mirrors the emotional core of the record. Speaking on the record, jite explains: “This one is for the girls who have a bad habit of deep rumination! I wrote this song about how it feels to question love. You spend so much time with a person and give so much of yourself to them, but can’t help but wonder if it’s genuinely you that they are in love with, or the feeling of just having someone.”

She adds:

“I know limerence is such a huge buzzword right now, but the title actually came as an afterthought. I was in the studio with Charlotte Reed (the producer) and as I was preparing to write the second verse and trying to find a word to fit the rhyme scheme, I realized not only that limerence rhymed but also was a word that defined what the whole song was essentially about.”

Born and raised in LA, jite has been steadily perfecting her craft, developing a vibrant visual identity alongside a high calibre sound that spans R&B and pop. Following her debut single “isolation” in 2023, she has delivered a consistent stream of releases, including the infectious two pack “poison / wrapped around my heart” and her 2025 hit “omw!”, which earned acclaim across WONDERLAND, NOTION, COLORS, ONES TO WATCH and more.
