‘Moving Madder’ is the new EP from rising underground UK rapper, songwriter and all-round creative Yems01

East London spitter, songwriter and all-round creative, Yems01 continues to push boundaries by mixing West Coast flavours with a fresh East London perspective, on forthcoming project ‘MOVING MADDER.’

The EP displays the harmony that can be found between using traditionally US-sounding instrumentation beneath Yems’ raw grime-influenced tonality. While listening, hints of Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd and Yeat can be heard; making for an energetic and colourful listening experience.

With lead single ‘CARHARTT CARGOS’ setting the tone, other stand out tracks including; ‘DISTANT’ and ‘SYNTHETIC’ further proves the levels of his creativity and lyrical capabilities. Titled ‘MOVING MADDER’, deriving from Yems01’s catch phrase, ‘moving mad’ and is symbolic of 2022 being the year of elevation. If you thought Yems moved mad before… just watch this space!

Yems may have only stepped into the music scene in late 2019, but has already proved to be a distinct force, with his single ‘Jamie Vardy’ music video release via GRM Daily amassing over 30,000 views on YouTube and over 100,000 streams on DSPs as well as featuring on underground UK rap legends 808INK’s latest album ‘Still Here’.

There are no rules and formula books for Yems01, only a desire to create and form a connection between art and consumers. This was made evident by the release of a 10 track EP, ‘Moving Mad’ only 2 months after stepping onto the scene. He proved that his commanding yet light hearted cadence can fit across a wide range of sounds.

Despite Yems’ constant endeavour to create new and interesting work, the term ‘moving mad’ has stuck with him throughout his journey. So much so that he has been working on a follow up EP to his debut named ‘MOVING MADDER’.

Speaking on the project and the meaning behind the term “moving mad”, Yems states: “I realised pretty fast growing up that I thought differently to most of the people around me. Things that were alien to others felt normal to me, and vice versa. As a kid you always want to be like the other kids, do what the other kids are doing, you know? So as a yute it really took a toll on me, but as I grew up, I realised it was my strength, my superpower. To be able to see situations clearer than others, to have the innate urge to always be different in how I approach life as a whole. That’s why I move mad, cos I don’t want to be normal, I want to be the madman living amongst the ‘sane’.”

‘Moving Madder’ is available now via all major platforms.
