The British-born, Anguillian-raised songstress has done it again. Pulling from her influences of Michael Jackson and Bob Marley, she’s created another catchy melody with a powerful message. Incorporating African elements with melodic pop refrains, the singer has yet again added her unique touch to transform Afro-pop into a sound never once heard before.
Uplifting, captivating and soul-inspiring, Zipporah’s latest single ‘Loving Me’, is the summer anthem calling for change. The song is written by Zipporah and produced by Dizzell Bueno, the powerful duo responsible for the previous success seen in her single Hooked. The song is accompanied by a stunning music video, which boasts French director Jima Kanor who has worked with some of the top French artists in the world including Bamby and Stony.
Speaking more on the release she says:
“Every song I write is personal, but I wanted this one to inspire healing. The saying goes, hurt people hurt people, but for a lot of us, we don’t even realize we’re walking around with open scars. This song is about change. Change from old ways of insecurity and bad habits of self-neglect. Hakuna Zaidi, meaning no more. It’s time for self-love, self-growth and self-reflection. I chose elements of the Swahili language because so many of my fans are from Tanzania, so I really wanted to connect with them as well. Plus Swahili is such a beautiful language. The release date also falls on my birthday which was intentional. What better way to show self-love than to release a song about it on your birthday. It’s my way of giving back to my fans and to myself”.
As a new and independent artist, Zipporah has made great strides in the music industry. Her recent single, Hooked has reached almost 70,000 views on YouTube, with the singer also being featured on major radio stations like BBC Manchester radio along with being featured in award winning blogs like AnR factory.
With her consistency in producing hits combined with her fierce hunger to succeed, it is no doubt Zipporah is an artist on the rise to watch.
