edub.emoney

Hailing from the thriving music hub of Los Angeles USA and signed to BOYSLOVERECORDS, edub.emoney has been inspired by the sounds of the ‘City of Angels’ from a young age. He shares the origin of many other rappers before him – rap battling in the streets with friends and discovering his freestyling rap ability.

Following on from this, edub.emoney wrote his first track with a local radio DJ who provided the beat and the rest is history. He debuted his first performance at Mixed Nuts Entertainment Hall and is eager to develop his musical prowess.

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

Michael Jackson inspired me to be an entertainer. Notorious B.I.G. inspired me to be a rapper

What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?

What differs me and my sound from other artist is you can hear the passion in my music. Not only that but, my music does bring a sense of nostalgia as well. It’s not just about the beat being dope, you have to have the lyrics to match as well. I take my time with each lyric and metaphor. To me its not about who can complete songs the fastest, it’s about interacting with the listener and gives them the chance to let them into my life and allow them to see things through my eyes.

Your latest release ‘Brown Skin Girl’ is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the project?

At a young age I fell in love with R&B, I knew that I wanted to make a love song but didn’t know where to start. I brought it back to the 90’s. D’Angelo – Lady inspired me to make a sound similar to it. The song itself is just a vibe. I linked up with Rellevant (producer) to come up with the beat for it. As far as the lyrics to the song, I wanted it to show the appreciation and respect that I have for black women.

Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any ‘wow’ moments?

One of the “wow” moments in my musical career happened recently. This song “Brown Skin Girl” was featured on TV Show “Two Degrees” Season 2, Episode 3 and is now available to watch on The Brick TV app. I’ve worked so hard to get any of my songs to be on TV and for it to come true shows me that with hard work, patience, and persistence anything is possible.

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

The personal advice I would give to any up-and-coming artist is to hang in there. Success doesn’t typically happen overnight. It takes blood, sweat, and tears. Rome wasn’t built in a day and being an artist truly does test your will. The trick to this is that you have to promote your music A LOT!!!! Promote, Promote, Promote because every time you do it gives an opportunity for a new person to listen to what you have to offer.

What does the foreseeable future hold for you as an artist?

In the foreseeable future I will be releasing my First E.P. titled R.O.H.O. (Rejection Over Hand Outs) so be on the lookout.

Anything else you would like to add?
