Bayanni

Bayanni is the fresh kid off the block. He is the latest artiste to be unveiled under the prestigious label Mavin Records headed by the legendary Don Jazzy.

The singer is introducing himself through his self titled quartet EP of four tracks, the project puts his undeniable silvery voice, memorable melodies, sonic versatility and song writing craftiness on display.

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

My mum inspired me to make music, she has the best voice in the world.

What differs you and your sound from other emerging artists in the music industry?

That would be my ability to combine abstract melodies in the craziest way you can ever imagine. I’m also a producer, there are a lot of sounds I make in my songs that people think were made by instruments, not knowing I made those sounds with my voice.

Your debut self-titled EP is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the project?

My creative process; I make music out of ideas that come to my head, some times they are personal stories, sometimes not. My family is the inspiration behind my project.

The Bayanni EP highlights the beginning of a journey that explores Afrobeat. Each song explores a different sound that ensures every listener enjoys a wholesome experience and leaves them craving more of Bayanni.

In your own opinion, what is the most meaningful song you wrote? What makes you say that one?

The most meaningful song I wrote; literally all my songs are meaningful. I wouldn’t write a meaningless song, and for me to pick the most meaningful, would be hard, because I interpret the meanings of my songs differently on different days.

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

My personal advice will be, consistency, hard work and patience are three things you should always work with.
