His success as a songwriter paired with his background in performing arts naturally led him to forge his own path at with global potential.

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

My family are very musical, I was always surrounded by lovers of different types of music, and there was never any family get together, where music wasn’t the protagonist!

I remember growing up, creating sounds with anything I could! mainly stealing pots and pans from my mum cooking cabinet to make drums. From young myself and my brothers were encouraged to share creativity. Headlined my “front room festival” many times aha! That’s the main inspiration for pursuing a career I music…couldn’t believe when I found out people would actually pay me to make music!

What differs you and your sound from other artists in the music industry?

This is a tough question, I dont feel like I ever consciously made a decision to try to be different. I feel like it’s hard to answer this without sounding like Kanye West aha. But I suppose one thing that makes me different, is my fluidity between Genres…I’ve loved so many different types of music, and always set out to make music I genuinely love…if I can’t listen to it 100 tines in a row, and not get bored, then the world would never hear!

For that reason, the sound of my music is consistent, (my voice will always be my voice) but the genre will sway in between R&B, Afro – Pop, even indie music…hence the tag line “R&B’s Indie Kid”

I dont believe that true art can be put into 1 box…I want to keep people on their toes!

Your debut single, ‘So Far Gone’ is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the release?

So Far Gone… this song started off as a freestyle, was scrolling through YouTube beats, something came on that just instantly exploded into melody ideas!

At the time, I was with a girl who I didn’t wanna be with romantically anymore. Couldn’t really see any future, we had different mindsets. We just didn’t fit romantically…I’ve always been terrible at breaking things off, I never know what to say. And so when it came to writing these words, I felt like they really wrote themselves. The situation was so current, that it all came quite quickly!

In your own opinion, what is the most meaningful song you wrote? What makes you say that one?

Most meaningful song? This is so hard, cause all songs I write feel so important at the time!…I actually really love a song of mine that’s quite un known…it never really got the streams or attention it deserved. Its a song called ‘Flatline’…for me, I suppose I’m not “outwardly emotive” this was the most honest/vulnerable song I’ve ever released…im going to rework it one day!

Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any ‘wow’ moments?

I’ve had a fare few, I think I’m definitely someone who’s “easily wowed” though…Im wowed that I’m fortunate enough to be able to call music a career, so I think if there’s any aspiring artists reading this. I would say allow yourself to excite yourself!

Be excited by every opportunity you get in this music business. Because we are very lucky to get to do a lot of what we love!

Every day’s a wow moment!

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

Work, work, work, work, work, work…There’s thousands upon thousands of super talented people around the world! What separates you? You have to be willing to do what others aren’t, to get what others won’t!

I’d say just to ask yourself, what are you doing today, to improve yourself tomorrow?

For me, the biggest thing is to network, put yourself in different situations with different people who challenge you to be even better than you already are!

What does the foreseeable future hold for you as an artist?

Foreseeable future for me, more shows looking to tour in May/June. And just to create and release art that lasts forever! So Far Gone is my first of 2023…but have so much more lined up and ready to go for the rest of the year…the plan is to be busier than I’ve ever been. Busy is a blessing!

‘So Far Gone’ is available now via all major platforms.
