A seductive combination of diverse influences: Introducing London based French-Congolese artist Koko Clay and her debut EP ‘Fantasy of an Outcast’

Koko Clay is a seductive combination of diverse influences such as sophisticated R&B, stylish pop, with a hint of electronic sonorities and Afro-carribean inspired sounds. As well as being a talented vocalist she is also a gifted songwriter who produces all of her music, and a vibrant performer. Born in Reims in the east side of France, the self proclaimed «DIY Princess » comes from a Congolese background and resides in London.

Her first body of work ‘Fantasy of an Outcast’ is a musical experience, or that’s how the singer-songwriter would like you to approach it.

Each song is written and produced entirely by Koko and is an invitation to discover a specific side of the artist’s psyche, with a particular message. Which is the reason none of the songs sound a like. It explores various themes such as surviving abusive relationships, fierce self love, mental health, resilience and accountability in the most honest way possible.

Koko wanted to present a first body of work that would reflect her true essence as an artist, with themes people can relate to, especially after such a challenging year.

‘Fantasy of an Outcast’ is available now via all major platforms.
