Rising Nigerian R&B artist Noir joins forces with rapper and singer SGaWD on his latest release ‘Figure It Out’

Following his first release of the year with ‘Man Of My Word’, this follow up continues to display a mature sound with nostalgic undertones.

Offering his smooth tone across a commanding yet subtle beat, Noir opens up about heartbreak and the hurdles you can face and have to overcome when in a relationship, trying to prevent either party from getting hurt. The video for the track also portrays the relationship perfectly, displaying intimate lighting and dark tones, with the sole focus on just the two of them sorting out their differences.

When speaking on the track Noir said: “I never really explored the intensity of heartbreak till I made this song.” But with the ability to be vulnerable in his music, you would never be able to tell.

Born-and-raised in Lagos, Noir was immersed in the city’s music culture from a young age. Now drawing from classic Nigerian sounds from the incomparable Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and Ebenezer Obey for inspiration when it comes to his own craft, as well as incorporating global influences including Prince, Aaliyah, and Daft Punk, the rising artist’s talents knows no bounds.

Following up on his debut 2020 EP ‘Up At 5’, which included singles “Down For It” and “Comfortable”, Noir now sets his sights on closing out the year in a strong position, cementing his name in conversations for ones to watch for the 2022 months to come. Already garnering support from tastemakers including WE PLUG GOOD MUSIC, MIXTAPE MADNESS, NATIVE MAGAZINE, NOCTIS MAGAZINE and GUAP MAGAZINE to date, the multi-talented artist is certainly taking several steps in the right direction.

‘Figure It Out’ is available now via all major platforms.
