Taken from her forthcoming EP ‘Hot Mess’, ‘Only One’ is the latest release from Dublin-based, singer-songwriter Kayleigh Noble

Dubliner Kayleigh Noble has come a long way since singing into a Bratz microphone.

After a series of collaborations with beatsmith 1000 Beats (which have racked up over 500,000 plays on Spotify) and gaining acclaim from Hot Press, Channel 4 (who used a track for show Frank of Ireland), RTE2FM and Le Future Wave, the former London based singer has returned to her Irish home, and with her comes newly found life experience and change.

Heavily influenced by the wavy flavour of contemporary R&B, the soul of the late Amy Winehouse and gender-fluid multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana, Kayleigh released Ride On My Own earlier in the year; a soundtrack that many will be able to relate to, and a story that represents a woman that has found strength following a traumatic and suppressive relationship. Now she’s back, with a new single – Only One – from her forthcoming EP titled Hot Mess.

The single is a collaboration with fellow Dubliner Clu (Gobstopper Records, Coil Records), who has swapped his traditionally autotuned wave and deconstructed grime for an icey alt-R&B score that glistens and shines across its three minute length. It’s alien R&B instrumentation beamed from the future, and highlights exactly why Clu has been one of Ireland’s leading lights in terms of production quality across the last decade.

Kayleigh truly comes into her own here. A tale of toxic romance and sexual longing, ‘Only One’ sees Kayleigh develop a knack for beautifully powerful vocal hooks that live long in the memory.

“I need it so bad, best that I’ve ever had, I know you that, I know you love me / so close it scares me, but you can’t compare me, to anything hoe baby, there’s only one me.”

It’s a wonderful example of Kayleigh’s creative growth. Combined with her captivating sexual identity, incredible voice and indomitable attitude, it really feels like we are about to enter Kayleigh season.

‘Only One’ is available now via all major platforms.
