Fast-rising group H3rizon talk individuality, wow moments and the creative process & inspiration behind their empowering new single ‘F Your Flowers’

Characterized by their Pop/Soul/R&B inspired style, enhanced by incredible vocal arrangements, their unique interpretation of melodies and mesmerising harmonies are leaving audiences in awe at the group’s amazing sound.

Gabby, Tiara and Bernie are determined to make their mark on the music industry, with a fresh new look to complement their already distinctive sound.

What or who inspired you to begin a career in music?

Tiara: Growing up I was heavily inspired by the Divas in music; Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and many more. I was always moved by their way of performing and the way they built such a huge platform full of so much love and genuine passion for their art. I knew that I wanted to do the same with our music in H3rizon.

Gabby: Not to sound too cheesy, but behind my growing love for music, my parents inspired me to get into it in the first place and have been my biggest support in my music career. When I was younger, I never wanted to go out of my comfort zone, but my parents had so much faith in me and helped me overcome my fears by helping me discover music. It became a creative outlet for me that not only helped me discover myself but helped build my self-confidence, so I’m very grateful for my parents and I only want to make them proud by pursuing music <3

Bernie: Like the other girls, I was fortunate to grow up in a household that embraced the music that came with Filipino culture. So that means I was always encouraged by my parents to get up and sing karaoke at every family gathering! And that pretty much says who inspired me to start a career in music. With my parents’ constant love and support, and countless trips to music, dance, and singing lessons growing up, they helped incite my passion and find the tools to start my career. And now within my work, I look to artists such as Chloe x Halle for their production and songwriting skills, and Beyonce for her performance skills. They inspire me to hone my craft and better myself as an artist.

What differs you and your sound from other rising groups in the music industry?

We’ve all been brought up with different musical experiences – Tiara’s pop/RnB background, Gabby’s classical music influences, and Bernie’s production expertise. We each bring something unique to the group and we love combining those elements within our music. Also as a Filipino-Australian girl group, we hope to increase representation and bring more of our culture into Western media while supporting & encouraging other Filipinos & Asians in the creative arts.

Your new single ‘F YOUR FLOWERS’ is out now. Can you please describe the creative process and inspiration behind the release?

We were inspired to write this song after Gabby received unwanted flowers at her doorstep from an admirer that had been text harassing her and couldn’t take no for an answer.

We had the pleasure of collaborating with fellow filo-aussie / X Factor winner Cyrus Villanueva & Jasmine Khan when writing this banger, brought to life by our producers Phil Anquetil & Kelvin Avon.

Our video drew inspiration from the Regency period where women’s autonomy had virtually no importance. The women were to be seen but not heard. With empowerment in mind, we’re hoping to assert anyone feeling pressured for anything to say a big “F U”!

Throughout your musical career, have you experienced any ‘wow’ moments?

Tiara: We can so gratefully say that we’ve experienced quite a few ‘wow’ moments. The first time we saw our Christmas Single & our photo on a billboard in New York Time Square last year was definitely a pinch-me moment!

Another would be our first national tour in April, supporting the ‘Made In The 90’s R&B’ Tour with some of America’s most renowned R&B Artists. We have had so many R&B legends come on our journey. We think it’s because we represent a time where harmony and beats and melodic music was such a priority. So when we supported the ‘Made In The 90’s R&B’ Tour Q Parker from 112, Renee Neufville from Zhane the guys from ALL FOR ONE and also Coolio really took us under their wing and gave us such great advice about the industry and our careers going forward.

But even more recently we’ve had QUEST LOVE from the roots show us some amazing love – not only has he shared some amazing stories with us about touring and his career but he sneakily shared one of our TikToks with MARIAH CAREY and of course he filmed the interaction for us and sent it to our inbox. So Mariah has seen us and knows who we are… WOOOWWWW!! Legends like Quest Love that support and show love- when they don’t really need to help us –  keep us going. So Mariah Carey knows us 🙂

We really do feel blessed.. We know we’ve been working quietly, but we’ve been working hard & we can’t wait to share it all with you!

Everyone experiences good days and bad days. As individuals, when you have a bad day, what motivates you to keep moving in a more positive direction?

We have an amazing support system of family & friends as well as our amazing team behind us keeping us focused, inspired & motivated to get through every obstacle we face along this crazy journey. We also have such loyal & supportive followers.. They’re the sunrise to our H3rizon.. Always showing us light, hope and so much love!

Most importantly – we have built such an amazing sisterhood right here- we’re each others biggest fans in the world and we have eachothers back, no matter what!

What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

Bernie: If you’re passionate about a career in music, you need to go all out for it! Try different things & get out of your comfort zone – put your authentic self out there on social media – it’s the only way to find YOUR PEOPLE, collaborate with other artists from different genres, & perform your music live.

Don’t be scared of trial & error- it’s the only way to know what works & the right audience for you will grow WITH you!

It’s definitely not all perfect out there .. There are always haters & people trying to feed you negative energy on the way, but stand your ground, stand true to you and learn to let it fall off your back! As artists, we can tend to live in our bubbles sometimes, so having the right team around you is essential for guidance and support.

Most importantly, remember it’s a journey! No journey is a straight and easy road.. So, be patient and trust the process!
