Continuing the blend of sonic innovation and languid, original bars that made the Nigerian-born south London native one of the most eye-catching new names of 2022, ‘BACK PACK’ again effortlessly displays Rekki’s distinctive style, outlining a narrative of nostalgia and early personal experiences dipping into fashion and love interests alike. The follow up to the rising star’s viral singles ‘Love and Attention’ and ‘Would You Let Me’ last year, ‘BACK PACK’ continues to showcase a rare, subtle talent that underlines SamRecks as a significant new artist in the landscape.

Since first making waves in 2020 with ‘On Me’, SamRecks’ considered flow of releases has seen him make notable waves on the underground, racing to over 80K dedicated Spotify monthly listeners (and over 1M Spotify streams on ‘Love and Attention’ last year alone). Receiving key radio support across the likes of BBC 1XTRA, CAPITAL XTRA and REPREZENT including a co-sign from UK cult rap icon Potter Payper, who played him on BBC 1XTRA whilst covering Snoochie Shy’s show, critical attention has been swift across the likes of CLASH, MIXMAG, NEW WAVE MAGAZINE and DJ MAG.
