After more than a year-long hiatus, British singer-songwriter Sasha Sky made her return to the music scene with her latest single, ‘Why’d You Do That?’. The emotionally charged track is set to captivate audiences with its raw honesty and message.
Sasha Sky’s music career first launched amidst the UK lockdown in 2021 and her debut single ‘Doubts’ received airplay on BBC Tees Radio, for the BBC Music Introducing Broadcast. Since then Sasha Sky has tallied up numerous plays on the station with her tracks ‘Doubts’, ‘Repeat’ and ‘Enough’ including airplay for on-air events such as the BBC Music Introducing Live Lounge Special.
In 2022 we saw a double release from Sasha Sky for the first time, with ‘Repeat’ dropping in February and ‘Enough’ releasing in April, on the artist’s birthday. There is a refreshing contrast between Sasha Skys debut single and ‘Repeat’. As her later music holds a stronger overtone of empowerment, while remaining vulnerable. The ‘Doubts’ singer has said that ‘Why’d You Do That?’ is almost a part-two to her track ‘Repeat’ and the story may continue……
‘Why’d You Do That?’ delves into the complexities of betrayal and frustration, when we are hurt and taken advantage of by those closest to us. Sasha Sky says that this single, to her, is “the epitome of the phrase all of that for nothing.”
Behind the scenes, the instrumental production of ‘Why’d You Do That?’ was crafted by the talented Valeriy Shvedov, professionally known as Black Surfer. Sasha Sky actually discovered this ready-made instrumental on YouTube and fell in love with the sound instantly. Shortly after, the lyrics for what is now ‘Why’d You Do That?’ came pouring out of Miss Sky and her next single was born.

Sasha Sky’s ‘Why’d You Do That?’ is available on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and more. Listeners can access the single directly here to immerse themselves in her latest creation.
