Hailing from Manchester UK, Grete is set to release her third single – ‘Cz u don’t’. After unveiling her last single “How Long”, she decided to round off the pre-EP singles with this forward thinking, experimental yet emotional song. Influences include Halsey, Yebba, MARO and Hiatus Kaiyote.

As the song begins, you may think you know its trajectory – due to the familiar sound of piano and vocals – but this could not be further from the truth. The collage of instrumental ideas and musical sections the song travels through acts as a transition from a calm, serene intro through to the largest musical climax of Grete’s career thus far.

The song winds through various sections with a beat in 7 as the backdrop, culminating in a whole-band-polyrhythm to end – a listening experience one is sure to thoroughly enjoy. After hearing this, it would be impossible not to be intrigued about Grete’s forthcoming EP.

Lyrically, ‘Cz u don’t’ is searching for reasons to leave an unhealthy relationship. Whether it’s a lack of patience, love or caring, Grete is revealing a different cause for the relationship’s breakdown with each chorus.

Grete was born and raised in a little Eastern- European country called Lithuania and started singing when she was only 3 years old. She began her young artist and performer career in small ensembles and bands and was quickly spotted and drawn to the biggest stages in the country, such as tv competitions, musical theatre, international concerts and contests, and even the finals of The Voice of Lithuania. Gaining local fame opened many doors for function gigs and session work but that was not the career she truly wanted to pursue. Grete chose to leave Lithuania and start fresh in the UK. Now she is studying pop music vocals in RNCM.

Influenced by artists like Jazmine Sullivan, The Weeknd and Yebba, she began writing vocally colourful and harmonically intricate songs with strong messages and old R&B references.

‘Cz u don’t’ is available now via all major platforms.
